Australia

• Australian Spatial Data Directory - A national initiative supported by all governments under the auspices of ANZLIC, and hosted by the Commonwealth Government through ERIN, AUSLIG and NRIC. The ASDD is under development but will eventually provide an interface to spatial data directories throughout Australia. The national interface to the distributed network, hosted by ERIN, currently has links to directories in the ACT, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria and the Commonwealth. Commonwealth nodes include Environment Australia, AUSLIG, Bureau of Meteorology, and Bureau of Resource Sciences. There is a link to a separate node in the Northern Territory. Links with other States and Territories are also being developed. The Bureau of Resource Sciences node, hosted by NRIC, currently provides access to metadata for the other Commonwealth, agencies as well as New South Wales and Queensland.
