Portland METRO RLIS Data

NOTE: As of March 26, 2012 all current Portland data is in the Portland_Metro_RLIS Folder. Outdated folders "Portland_Area" and "Portland_Greater_Area" will be moved. Contact Kathy Stroud at kstroud@uoregon.edu if you have problems accessing data.

The files available through the UO Libraries are the same that are available through the RLIS subscription. Metadata on the files may be accessed at Metro RLIS. Metro has allowed the UO to make this data available to UO faculty, staff, and students on the Library's intranet server know as "confusion." Following the instructions at Connecting to data share to access data. The data may be accessed from any of the PCs in the UO Libraries that require patrons to login. (It is not accessible from the Macs.)

Data use is restricted to UO faculty and students engaged in classroom work and research. DO NOT share data with outside parties without permission.

Use ArcCatalog to copy files you need to your portable USB device or other personal workspace. The shared server is write-only and subject to periodic cleaning and updates. The file you access today is not guaranteed to be the same version accessed tomorrow.

Generally the files are in ESRI formats for use in ArcGIS Desktop or another GIS program. To convert files to CAD compatible format use ArcGIS (installed on to library's PCs). See Export to CAD Drawings.
