Conflict Resolution Research Resources

Selected Titles

Library Catalog (Advanced Search Options)

The UO Libraries Catalog is the most complete inventory of resources and services available through the various UO libraries.

• Keyword (or Keyword in Title) Searching:

(ADR or alternative dispute resolution) and environment*

NOTE: Results can be limited to law library holdings, and may be sorted by relevancy, date, or title. Within individual records, click on subject headings to identify similar works.

• Can Request recall on checked out items (approximately 1 week wait)

• Use "Repeat in Summit" for more search results from Northwest libraries; can request retrieved items online and have delivered (including to law library) in 2-4 days

• Use WorldCat to search for items outside UO and other Northwest libraries

UO Libraries Research Guides

• Guides follow traditional research processes for library research

• Guides available for broader ADR/CRES topics, e.g. business, environmental studies, ethnic studies, international studies, law, psychology, and sociology

OneSearch

• Use "OneSearch Quicksets" link for simple survey searches across basic topic areas such as core/general, law, environment:

"conflict resolution" and "restorative justice" run in Law Quickset, or
"multiparty mediation" run in Environment Studies Quickset

• Use "OneSearch" link and corresponding categories menu to see full range of topic areas and databases available for searching

NOTE: The two primary benefits of OneSearch Advanced (database identification and simultaneous searching of multiple databases) not always available together, e.g. compare Law and Environmental Studies categories and note how few Law databases can be searched at one time.

• Advanced searching categories almost identical to Research Guides topics (above)

• Use "Find Database" or "Database List" tabs within OneSearch  to locate/enter known databases

•Use FindText to determine availability of articles

Westlaw (or Westlaw Campus for non-law/CRES students)

• JLR and TP-ALL are good databases for starting research

• Consider natural language search options until more precise terminology is identified

LexisNexis

• Use link for "Area of Law - By Topic" to isolate databases for particular subject areas
