Why Preserve Student Films?

Student films made at the University of Oregon represent the early work of the next generation of filmmakers. Student productions are also an important document of student life on campus. Our goal is to preserve quality student films in the University Archives to ensure long-term access.

The Process

• Deed of Gift form

  Fill out this form. It provides the UO Library Library limited permission to copy your film for the purposes of preservation.

• Obtain copyright clearances

  If you use music or other copyrighted materials in your film, you must get permission from the copyright holder before the library can archive your film. For help with this process, contact Elizabeth Peterson [ emp@uoregon.edu ].

• Transfer your digital files

  Contact Kira Homo [ khomo@uoregon.edu ] in Special Collections & University Archives to upload your files to library servers.
