United Nations documents ("mimeos" or "masthead documents")

The United Nations documents include a category termed "mimeographed," or "mimeos," so called because of the printing technology first used in their production. Officially called "masthead" documents, these are neither Official Records nor Sales Publications, but have the characteristics of working papers.They are not listed individually in the UO Library's online catalog. They are maintained in filing cabinets in the Knight Library's Document Center (see this map for approximate location; ask a Document Center staff person if you need help), and are filed by their official document series symbol. The table identifies the main document series, their symbol prefix, and the UO Library's holdings of each. The word "All" does not indicate that our holdings are historically complete, but only that we have retained documents in that category that were issued as early as 1980.
