Library Diversity Fund

Library Diversity Fund

The University of Oregon Libraries has long upheld the value of diversity* in all its forms. Through visual displays, multi-media, books and DVDs, we strive to encourage and foster these values. For the second consecutive year, the Library has set aside funds to purchase materials to add to our diversity collections. The fund is open to all members of the University community. Students, staff, groups, and faculty alike may nominate materials for possible purchase by submitting their request online. In January 2014 we will announce which nominated items have been selected to be added to our permanent collection.

To ensure priority consideration, please submit nominations by December 6, 2013.

If you have questions, please contact Shane Turner, Library Diversity Committee facilitator.

*The library's definition of diversity reflects the University's definition: a broad meaning that includes, but is not limited to, differences based on

  • race
  • ethnicity
  • national origin or citizenship
  • gender
  • religious affiliation or background
  • sexual orientation
  • gender identity
  • economic class or status
  • political affiliation or belief
  • ability or disability
