Apple Keynote Help
Keynote is part of the iWork suite of programs for Mac OS. It is similar to Microsoft PowerPoint.
General Tips
- Using a black or gray background will display images to their best advantage
- Use good quality jpeg files for color depth and a small file size
- You can always adjust a large image to make it smaller on the slide, but you cannot make a small image larger
- Inserting media clips (video, audio) will increase your Keynote file size dramatically. Use links to media on the web or elsewhere on your computer
Keynote Basics
- Open Keynote
- Choose a Theme with a dark gray or black background and make the Presentation Size the same as the resolution of the projector that will be used to present it (1024 x 768 is standard)
- Use the New button at the top left to insert a new slide
- Use the Masters button to change the layout of the slide
- Drag and drop images from your computer to the slide to insert
- Save the presentation by going to File > Save As
