Search Tips:

Dates can currently be searched only from the Search across all fields box
-
Use the Browsing lists to find terms in the controlled vocabularies with which to search
-
Minimize the use of articles (the, an, a) and conjunctions (and, or) to increase your query returns
-
Don't use abbreviations: use "Saint" not "St.", "Mount" not "Mt.", etc.
-
A search using the Title field searches both the title and the view fields
-
All plans have the word "plan" in the title or view, as do elevations, sections, etc.
-
A search using the Creator search box searches both the Creator (Person) and Creator (Group) fields
-
Try searching on just the surname of a Creator, or look in the Browsing lists if you can't find works that should be in AAI
-
Japanese City, State / Provinces are formatted City (Prefecture), Region or Prefecture, Region
-
The Source field refers to the object from which the digital image was produced (book, photograph, slide). Click on the Source to return all images from that object
