Fall Trainings

Getting Started with Canvas:

Tuesday, September 19 – 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Wednesday, September 20
10:00  noon (For GE Instructors ONLY)
Wednesday, September 20 – 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Thursday, September 21 – 10:00 – noon

This session is designed for those new to Canvas, whether Faculty, Instructor or GE, and for those interested in brushing up on Canvas.  The first hour will be hands-on training, followed an optional hour of independent work with Canvas Specialists. They will be available to answer questions and work one-on-one with participants.

The New VeriCite:

Thursday, September 21– 1:00 – 2:00 pm

VeriCite has changed!  It is now integrated with SpeedGrader and the reports are now more robust! Also, the option to use VeriCite as an External Tool is no longer available.  There is no more setting up two assignments and not having SpeedGrader for document markup!  The new interface is great, and is what many instructors have requested!  In 30-45 minutes instructors will learn how to transition from the External Tool VeriCite to the use of VeriCite in SpeedGrader and preview the new reporting interface.

iClicker Classic – New Name, New Version!:

Tuesday, September 19 – 10:00 – 11:30 am

iClicker has undergone changes this summer.  It has a new name, iClicker Classic, and a new version with new question types.  Join our iClicker support representative, Tricia Salata, and CMET Support Staff for an introduction to iClicker Classic and see what’s new.  During the session participants will download and install the new version, and prepare iClicker and their Canvas course sites for the start of Fall Term 2017.

Big Classes? – Effective Use of Canvas in Multi-section Lecture Courses:

Friday, September 22 – 10:00 – 11:30 am

Join us for a hands-on session that addresses Tips & Tricks to work effectively, efficiently and safely with large classes (100+) in Canvas.  As these are multiple section courses with GE support, there are different challenges and opportunities.  Bring your GE’s and join us to learn more.
