What We Do

Catalog monographs in English and other Western European languages

• Upgrade minimal-level cataloging copy
• Supply LC Subject Headings and call numbers
• Verify name, uniform title, series and subject access points in catalog records and edit to conform with authorized forms
• Create original bibliographic records
• Create authority records for names, series and uniform titles
• Propose new LC Subject Headings to the Library of Congress
• Catalog non-serial electronic resources
• Participate in digital library projects

Act as liaison between QuickCat and LT3 catalogers

• Resolve questions and problems related to the QuickCat workflow
• Monitor the number of items referred to the "LT3 shelf"
• Keep catalogers and Acquisitions staff informed of developments that will impact the flow of materials to and from the LT3 shelf
