About the Department

Mission Statement

    The mission of Collection Services is to provide good public service through intellectual, virtual, and physical access to the Libraries' collections and beyond. We define the policies and procedures necessary to produce responsive, high quality patron access to an ever-growing array of materials available through traditional and emerging systems. We assist members of the University of Oregon community with the organization of materials and the process of making them more widely available. We endeavor to build strong partnerships within the Libraries, on campus, and regionally and to contribute with increasing effectiveness to local, regional, and international metadata, digitization, filming, and preservation efforts.
