Description:

The University of Oregon Libraries' Reference and Research Services Department, Knight Library, is accepting applications for a Reference Intern. This is an exciting opportunity for a library science student or recent library science graduate to work closely with librarians in a major academic library reference department. Interns will receive training in the protocols and procedures of reference librarianship and will serve in the reference desk rotation during the summer session. The intern will also be introduced to the other departments in the library and will be given special projects based on interests and needs. The Knight Library houses strong collections in the humanities, social sciences, business, government documents, microforms, and maps. Reports to the Head, Reference and Research Services.
 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited library science program or have recently graduated (within one year)
  • Demonstrated interest in public service work in a research library
  • Successful completion of a reference course

Salary & Benefits:

  • $1800 stipend salary
